What:
What is a GreenMoms Group? It is a group of women who share information and ideas to support each other in living greener lifestyles. For example: green cleaning, simplifying holidays, reducing waste, conserving water, reducing plastics, and reducing consumption. Groups may also meet up for local green events. For example: tours of local sustainable farms, gift bag making parties, seasonal food preservation, vegetarian potlucks, and green movie nights.

Why:
Our circles of influence help to guide the way we live. GreenMoms provides a constant positive support toward greener living. No single group member is deemed an expert: we learn from each other, sharing green ideas...until eventually, families all over the world live greener lives.

How:
Do you want to lead your own local GreenMoms group? It is pretty easy, especially if you organize all your events online through GreenMoms. First, find local general parenting or mothers clubs, and send emails announcing a new local GreenMoms group. Ask anyone interested to send you an email address and name so you can collect an email list. Once you have collected a list, you will be able to start and manage your group, by linking a group email to this website or creating a group email on this website. Here, you can maintain discussion forums and post events. You can also post your local green resources (businesses or products) here, and access other regional GreenMoms group resources or discussions, to share views and information from around the world.

What does it take to start a GreenMoms group?

Motivation to spread green ideas and a few people.  Your group can be as big as you want it.  It can meet as often as you want, and you can organize whatever you want.  Find meeting and event ideas in our discussion forum or on the EVENTS page.

- Leader's name, email address, zip code and phone number (This is private information that we will not share with anyone else. It will only be used if we need to contact you.)

- Name you'd like for your group (ie: GreenMoms - Half Moon Bay, CA) or (ie: GreenMoms - GreenPet Owners)

- If your group is regional and not an online-only group, please list the cities that your group will encompass (ie: GreenMoms -Half Moon Bay encompasses: Pacifica, Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Half Moon Bay, and Pescadero).

- A photo or icon to represent your group (OPTIONAL: you can add this later after the group is set up)

- A description of your group (OPTIONAL: you can add this later after the group is set up)
