Valentine's Day is about celebrating your true love.  And, since many of us will be celebrating with our partners and likely getting a little closer, let's consider some non-toxic ways to get intimate. Did you know that there are several eco-friendly and non-toxic personal lubricants available?  Most mainstream personal lubricants contain petroleum bi-products.  That's right, substances derived from gasoline production!  Some ingredients include petroleum jelly, petrolatum, parabens, and mineral oil.  And, we put that onto the most delicate, sensitive, thin mucus tissue in our bodies?  It's alarming when a New York Times article says some of the mainstream lubricants contain "chemicals found in oven cleaner, brake fluid and antifreeze".

The good news is that there are several businesses that now sell plant based personal lubricants.  You should still check the ingredients to make sure you don't have allergies to anything because some plant based ingredients can sting.  Check out the creative options at Good Clean Love.
